The first and foremost thing that you do with your to-do list is cross off everything you don't need to do

I really connect to this statement. More than all the tips that you gave here. Today it is very easy to to understand this, you'd think about it, like on our computer, that when there are too many programs open, it slows down the computer. When I look first of all the things that I "do not have" to do, and "delete"them, my mind starts to run more easily:)

Time tables are so simple and childhood stuff that sometimes people don't take them seriously and skip them all together. But they work like a charm. 'Mind like water' reminded me of GTD.

I hope to take it easy even while I have a multitude of things to do. Not adding more to-dos will be a great way to start for me! Thanks for the great reminder to keep it simple!

Very nice write up.

Buzzing in your brain is a great way to put it. Some people call it psychic weight. Either way, the opposite is a peaceful calm or mind like water. The only way I get there is through clarity, leading from the inside out, addressing any high priority threats, and dumping my brain into trusted places.

Time-tables are powerful. I think it's the combination of visual aid, plus timeboxing, plus getting mindful about the time you have, and how long things take.
